This is a Windows installer for Zim, a WYSIWYG text editor written in Gtk2-Perl which aims to bring the concept of a wiki to your desktop.

Status:

• App is usable
• Can be installed to your desktop or a portable storage device (thumbdrive)
• Portable mode does not use Registry or create an uninstaller.
• Installed app includes a complete minimal copy of Perl + GTK, weighing in at over 60MB -- needs to be pared down and compressed
• At least one core plugin (Spell Check) fails -- so, don't try to use Spell Check.
• Some cosmetic issues

The current version of Zim in this package is 0.28 (released upstream 19 Feb 2009).

Zim 0.42 (Python port) and 0.29 (maintenance release of the Perl version) were released on 10 Jan 2010. We are working to get a Windows installer out for the Python version ASAP. In the mean time you can try installing all the prerequisites (Python + GTK2 for Windows) and downloading the Zim 0.42 source.
